  1. Cool list. Initial thoughts:

    1. no way mahler 5 over 2 and 9
    2. beethoven dominating sounds about right
    3. nice to see schubert's 8th getting some love; first heard it with hal becker and have loved it ever since
    4. i was surprised how many of the symphonies i was actually familiar with.
    5. sibelius is so heavy -- i can't handle it regularly.
    6. i love that bruckner 4 and mendelssohn 4 are next to each other -- i once had a cassette tape that had them on either side. i always think of them as twins.
